Description
Wen Cuijun is a lady from the state of Chu. Her father is a renowned general but is imprisoned due to groundless accusation. Following the advice from her father, she escapes to the state of Qi, and seeks protection from government official Xiaoming whose daughter Yue E is a born beauty. Liu Xiaotian and his cousin Chou Shangyiboth adore Yue E while Yue E loves Xiaotian. Luo Wenlong of the state of Chu disguises himself as a scholar and makes friends with Shangyi so as to spy on the state of Qi.
The state of Chu and Qi wage war against each other at the Mid-autumn Festival. Shangyi joins the army andXiaotian shows his love to Cuijun. Not knowing that Xiaotian and Cuijun are lovers, Yue E still falls in love withXiaotian. Xiaotian makes Yue E drunk and then goes away in haste, leaving a paper fan behind. The drunken Yue E spends the night with Wenlong and mistakes him for Xiaotian. Cuijun learns about that and hates Xiaotian.
Xiaotian loses the battle to Wenlong and Cuijun. Cuijun condemns Xiaotian’s disloyalty. Eventually Wenlongdiscovers the misunderstanding caused and admits his misbehavior of having an affair with Yue E. Cuijun andXiaotian soon make up and are reunited.
