Hidden Retort
Visual Arts

Description
Description
Weapon has been Jia Jing’s indulgence for years. In his early works, he smooths weapons, soldiers, regimentals and any war-related objects that we can think of into a series of aesthetic pictures. Recently, Jia Jing persistently studies and explores the impacts of war on culture, society, and behaviours and thoughts of people. The artist aims to reveal the hidden violence in the subconsciousness of human beings. The direct depiction is going to fade and being transformed to a tranquiller, gentler and smoother imagery which projects the artist’s unique force, aura and mentality. This transcended imagery is a particular aesthetics judgment carried a hidden field of force that is an ultimate retort to the violence itself and a more reasonable sentence.
