Musicus Fest peaks with a grand finale featuring Berlin Philharmonic First Concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley, Artistic Director Trey Lee, rising violin star Paloma So and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in an exhilarating program of youthful spontaneity and masterly sophistication.
A versatile soloist who plays with deftness and aplomb, Noah Bendix-Balgley shares the spotlight with Trey Lee and Paloma So for the very first time, presenting a double-bill of celebrated double concertos by Vivaldi and J.S. Bach respectively.
The lineup will be complemented by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra (SKO), an esteemed German institution with a remarkable seven-decade history and an unparalleled discography to its credit. Led by guest concertmaster Bendix-Balgley, the SKO takes center stage in Schubert’s Symphony No.5, a luminous and ebullient work with barely a trace of gloom. The concert concludes with Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No.13, an adolescent work which blossomed into the composer’s first full-scale symphony and foreshadowed the masterpieces to come.
