Three Hong Kong choreographers – Victor Fung, Lai Tak-wai and Bruce Wong, demonstrate their creativity in a series of new works in Eureka, to be staged at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre from 18 to 20 September 2015. Now in their thirties, they decide to share their eureka moment in the diverse styles of contemporary dance.
They are a perfect match, but in a blink of the eye, someone else stands next to him. Victor Fung is taking a glimpse into the complicated and ambiguous relationships between men and women in his work, If These Walls Could Talk.
Lai Tak-wai’s Overwhelming asks the audience to listen to their body through dance and walk to the chaotic edge of the maze inside their heart, unveiling the humanity under layers of appearance.
As a martial arts champion at the Hong Kong Open Wushu Championships, Bruce Wong shares his pursuit of the inner-self in his work, How to become…, in a cross-over between kung-fu and dance.
