Delia’s paintings express her profound admiration for the beauty of nature. Employing a vibrant palette of colours, she captures the mood of the different seasons and the changing light in her landscapes, still lifes, flower and figure paintings. Delia focuses on the beautiful aspects of the earth, and would like to encourage viewers to dwell on positive values in life.
Delia has travelled widely to find inspiration for her paintings. In each different country she has taken advantage of the opportunity to make sketches which she later develops into paintings in her studio. “Springtime Reflection” (illustrated on page 1) depicts a lady sitting quietly in her beautiful private garden in Maryland, USA, surrounded by spring flowers in full bloom. The painting conveys her deep feeling of oneness with the harmonious and tranquil scene, as she reflects on life peacefully.
