Description

Description

An uplifting inspiration rooted in folk dance and music

“As the vine survives about the Elm, so will my love the stroke of fate.” Set in the magnificent wilderness of Guangxi, China, a beautiful and intelligent lady from the Zhuang minority defies all conventions to pursue her own romance and happiness. Ding Wei, National First Class Choreographer, instills his masterful vision into creating this unique rendition of the renowned Chinese folklore: his expressive choreography has enlivened one of the crown jewels of China’s intangible cultural heritage – the melodious brilliance of folk songs. This story has inspired many by a woman’s courage in following her will, and will continue to symbolise the Zhuang people’s longing for freedom and true love.
