Coppélia 2010
Dance

Description
Description
Since its creation in 1870 for the Paris Opera, the wonderfully witty Coppélia has deservedly earned its reputation as one of the most popular comic ballets. The Hong Kong Ballet staged Ronald Hynd’s version with delightful choreography that gave the dancers an opportunity to showcase their comic and character acting skills, at the same time displaying their technical skills in a range of complex dance styles. Léo Delibes’ original blend of classical and folk music styles and Guidi di Bagno’s gorgeous sets and costumes further enhanced this endearing tale. The ballet’s bright and jovial mood made it the perfect family entertainment for all ages.
