Freespace welcomes five classical composers – Lin Chia-ying, Chang Yu-hsin and Cheng I-Ily Cheng from Taiwan and Daniel Lo and Angus Lee Yi-wei from Hong Kong – for a two-day artistic exchange on current developments in contemporary classical music in the region. The event includes a free public seminar with Lin Fang-yi (Taiwanese Contemporary Music Curator), William Lane (Founder and Artistic Director of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble (HKNME)) and Kung Chi-shing (Artistic Associate (Music) of West Kowloon), as well as a free concert and sharing session on the process of composing.
HK x TW Contemporary Music Talk
The Taiwanese curator of the HK x TW Contemporary Music Talk, Lin Fang-yi, joins William Lane, Founder of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and Kung Chi-shing, Artistic Associate (Music) of West Kowloon, to explore the development of contemporary classical music in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the wider Asia region.
