Description
Description
The exhibition will feature a video installation in three frames with accompanying photo stills.
In the video presented in a continuous loop of monochromatic black and white, Lau’s narrative describes the relationship between four characters (“me and three females, which are my mother, my wife and my daughter”) through a series of still images to recreate moving motion. “I believe that motions can express and reveal more information than language. Body language is more real and delicate. Having black and white as the two colors that dominate the work relates to the linear relationship from one generation to the next. This inherently contains an element of historical and memorial.”
