Boundless Movement (Re-Run)

Description

Description

Chinese people can be found all over the globe, just as grass appears on every inch of soil. At the turn of the last century, millions of Chinese pondered their own identity…

In celebration of the centenary of the 1911 Chinese Revolution
An eagerly-awaited revival of Raymond To’s award-winning classic

2011 marks the centenary of the 1911 Chinese Revolution, and the HKRep is proud to present a revival of its award-winning production of Boundless Movement featuring a brand new cast. A collaboration of legendary dramatist Raymond To and HKRep’s Anthony Chan, this modern Chinese historical epic is based on revolutionary activities around Guangzhou, specifically the story of the 72 martyrs of Huanghuagang. The story reflects how Chinese people from different social strata were imbued with the revolutionary spirit amidst troubled times. Boundless Movement is a vivid portrait of Chinese core values of family, love, friendship and patriotism.
