After John Rutter whom HKYC had worked with in 2017, here now another contemporary British choral master with the Choir! Bob Chilcott is always a familiar name in the global choral scene and he is no stranger to the scene in Hong Kong as well. His choral music is often performed in concerts and Christian services, as well as showcases in various choral competitions. His A Little Jazz Mass and Requiem serve as his staples for larger choral works, while The Lily and the Rose, the Shepherd’s Carol and other smaller pieces give an intimate idea on how his musical language will sound. With his versatile background in the choir of King’s College, King Singers, BBC Singers and others, he traverses over the realms of traditional British choral sound to contemporary Jazz and Blues idioms, skilfully moulding diversities together and allowing choristers to savour a great variety of musical colour in a span of several minutes.
The concert will be a refreshing and hearty encounter with Bob Chilcott and please join us together for the colourful choral feast Bob is going to give us!
