A dance and theatre performance, with Mui Cheuk-yin playing Mui Cheuk-yin
Renowned local choreographer Mui Cheuk-yin started creating the Diary series in 1986, merging her own experiences with text and video to craft a dance theatre piece. The 6th installment of the Diary series, Applause… is described as the most poignant piece in the series, showing at the age of 50 every experience, every person and every event worth remembering throughout her dance career. A highlight in the piece is a video in Mui’s private collection for many years – Mui’s own recording of German choreographer Pina Bausch. Applause… was premiered in 2009 and met with a standing ovation by the extremely enthusiastic audience, a touching moment and an extraordinary sight.
