Beyond Nature
Visual Arts

Description
Description
My inspirations come mostly from the dribs and drabs of daily life. From there, I just have to follow where my heart leads.
Born in Hong Kong, I only received my formal art education after middle age and well after my resettlement in multicultural Canada. The enlightenment from encountering other cultures has expanded the scope of my creative perception as well as enhancing my curiosity and acceptance of using different media.
My enjoyment in gardening unexpectedly has routed me in picking flowers and apples as objects for depiction. The vibrancy of colors helps in turning imageries into a series of dreams. The merging of my subconscious and non-subconscious minds motivates the progression of my works.
I do not follow one certain painting method or style, nor I wish to copy from real life. In short, I just want to paint and express myself freely on canvas, recording what is in my heart.
