Another Pair of Eyes

Description

Description

Another Pair of Eyes features 28 artworks from the collection of Jehan Chu, Michael
Xufu Huang, William Lim and Cindy Chua-Tay, curated by Yutaka Inagawa.
‘Paying attention’ is about a depth of field in our mind. When we focus on something, the
noise-cancelling system in our perception is on and automatically activates when we are
conscious about what we see or hear.
It creates a narrow focal point, with a clear separation of what are ‘focused’ and
‘background’. What will happen if we apply another noise-cancelling system to ‘cancel’
the existing one? The notion of ‘background’ will be no longer exist, and there’s a
chance for everything to become protagonists, whatever they are labelled.
A series of wooden objects named Sculptural Pedestal are installed. In order to reinforce
a gravitational pull in manipulated marginal areas.
