Organised by the Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Music Office Youth Choir (MOYC) and Music Office Children’s Choir (MOCC) will jointly perform in a concert titled “An Array of Choral Delights” at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre at 3pm on January 19 (Sunday). The programme includes traditional European folksongs as well as enchanting melodies from other parts of the world.
Conducted by Dr Angelina Au, May Ho, Yau Man-ching and including pianist Chan Wan-hong, the two choirs will sing a variety of European songs including Tallis’ “If Ye Love Me” (UK), Tomas Luis de Victoria’s “Ave Maria” (Spain), Schubert’s “Psalm 23” (Austria), Bortniansky’s “Cherubic Hymn No.7” (Russia) and more.
The choirs will also sing folksongs from South Africa and New Zealand as well as contemporary pieces such as Whitacre’s “The Seal Lullaby” (US), Chilcott’s “Catch a Falling Star” (UK), Gilpin’s “Lightning” (US) and “Sail On”, the theme song of “Hong Kong: Our Home” by Eric Kwok and Joseph Koo.
