Envelopes within Envelopes
Amos Wong Lok Hang (BMus2)
Each envelope contains an event, feeling that we felt or inevitably will feel someday.
1.
Utility Bills
Water, electricity, gas, mobile data and rent. These five bills happen over and over again. Nothing new, just repetitively using a huge portion of my
gains. But yeah, I don’t think about this much.
2.
Threatening WordsHarsh comments and accusations! They hurt much more when they appear as dreamy and sugar-coated words, seemingly harmless while I’m the only one receiving this tailor-made message. My heart wishes to protest, but my voice is oppressed and concealed. I come out and had to compromise.
3.
Fine
I’m fine. Am i fine?
Fine am I. I am FINE!

Foraging Memory
Jackson Wong Tsz Chun (BMus2)
18…19

Forgetting
Past cannot be experienced again、 we can only meet the future. So, memories are real? Or they are just a kind of fabrication of self-delusion, indulgence, and imagination? Even the past had been recorded, realistic emotion never be noted. Finding the real self in the past is impossible as changing by times. I’m 19. I lost my 18. But I see a new me when foraging my 18.
18…19

Vortex
Tsang Henry Chi Yeung (BMus2)
Inspired by many “vortexes” we may have seen in daily life, composer wrote this piece with taking its characteristic, impression of general public and composer’s imagination as reference. The piece is contrasting by showing how strong does vortex move and how vortex appears, and it is the main idea that the composer would like to express.Example of vortex: whirlpool, electric fan, black hole etc.

Dōjō-ji Temple
Anson Wai Chun On (BMus2)
Dōjōji (道成寺) is a famous Noh play of unknown authorship, this composition is a chamber music which inspired by it.

Step by Steps
Chow Tsz Hin (BMus2)
“Step by Steps” is a piece written for violin, cello and piano.Inspired from an encounter with a group of disabled children in Xiamen, the composer wanted to express his impression of these children’s living spirit where they choose to work through the pain, and make every effort to live their lives. The piece follows a steadily slow tempo and keeps on wandering between two directions – tonal and atonal. The three instruments project musical phrases that each acts in its own way while simultaneously overlaps with others continuously. With the changes of tone colours, these musical phrases transform from being monotonous to a richer sense as they become harmonically interdependent, while remaining independent in terms of rhythm and contour. Lastly, the music projects once again the monotonous feeling to show a great contrast moving from the climax to the end.

The Queen of Kabukicho (Hommage a Shena Ringo)
Simon Yip Sai Man (BMus2)
Lyric/ Music: Simon Yip
Mirror mirror on the wall
I’m the fairest of them all
Look! at my juicy lips
Don’t you wanna have a bite?
I wish you a good appetite
Suck! ev’ry holy toe
Lick it clean my lil’ doggie
You’re the slave of my beauty
Welcome… to my Wonderland
It’s your promised land
Now you’re honored to join my Slave Band
Listen to my order:
Revolve around me!
Revolve around me!
Why?
What’s wrong with this boar?
Why is he flirting with that whore?
My Goodness! They’re such an eyesore
Humph!
He’s not blind but impotent!
Well, he doesn’t realize his predicament
So…
Let me
help him
Let’s invite… him to my Wonderland
Hey! It’s his promised land
My Slave Band,
Listen to my order:
Bring him here
Make him kneel down under my heels
And cut his dick off
Can’t you hear your Queen’s order?
Cut! His! Dick! Off!
And add it into m
y potato soup
You may use my high
-heels
If you can’t find the knife
