“David with my head in his hand” l Playwright: Michael Ip l Director: Yim Wing Yan Fiona
A painter on exile because of committing murder had to draw a penitent piece conforming to the doctrine for the amnesty from the Pope and making his return to Rome. He was too poor to hire models, but a poorer young man has decided to model for him so he would not be starved to death. They argued over, compromised on and lament over their personalities, living, arts, beliefs, life and death from time to time. When time passed by and an idea has come to the painter’s mind. He was going to create a piece based on the story of David against Goliath. To draw the most real and freshly cut head with a face that was full of surprise, the painter made the poor young man to be David in the story to kill and decapitate him!
