Description
Hong Kong is metamorphosed? And so do you?
Born into working-class families, Lumli Lumlong studied Fine Arts together in France with limited means. They spent the next 15 years as painting teachers after returning to Hong Kong, and have witnessed the transformation of the city and the growth of students through the artwork of both parties . The ages of their students range from four to sixty, with backgrounds covering mainstream students, children with autism, sponsored students and rehabilitated youths and more. They have selected more than 200 pieces artwork out of 10,000 pieces. The exhibition title “The Hong Kong Metamorphosis” draws from Kafka’s “The Metamorphosis”. “The Metamorphosis” tells the story of protagonist Gregor Samsa finds himself inexplicably transformed into a huge insect. Our exhibition is also organized into four sessions: Egg, Caterpillar, Chrysalis and Butterfly.
