Opera Hong Kong Orchestra
Introduction
The Opera Hong Kong Orchestra is composed of nearly 60 outstanding experienced musicians, most of whom are soloists. Wong Sze-hang, former Second Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and founder of the Hong Kong String Quartet, is the Music Director of
the Orchestra. The world’s major opera houses support their own opera orchestras. Hong Kong’s opera community has seen significant development and the establishment of an opera orchestra is the next step in furthering that growth. The creation of the Opera Hong Kong Orchestra marks a major milestone in the development of opera in Hong Kong.
