Description
The longest-running Chinese radio drama, live on stage for the very first time with its satirical and humorous charm in full glory
In Mr. Chow’s Tea Restaurant, there’s always someone we can recognise…
First started in 1968 on Commercial Radio Hong Kong, 18/F Block C is the longest-running radio drama in the Chinese-speaking world. Forty-five years on, it is still going strong.
Every episode is a charming, down-to-earth yet thoughtful anecdote of everyday life in Hong Kong, its characters poking fun at the latest current issues. The show has evolved alongside with Hong Kong’s own growth and development, marking many historical occasions, and bears witness to an era collectively built by Hong Kong’s people. This year, this beloved local classic will be staged as a play, bringing to live the many faces that are familiar and distant all at once.
