Blue Danube

Description

Description

Dazzling choreographer Yuri Ng leaps across yet another boundary, joining hands with HKRep’s own Poon Pik Wan to tell the silent riddles of life

Blue Danube is a piece developed from Playwright Scheme IV and V by Prospects Theatre, selected to be the annual crossover project in the Black Box series. Jointly created by renowned choreographer Yuri Ng, also staring in the key role of the “dumb boy”, and multi-talented artist Poon Pik Wan, this play will see the two artists sailing across the “Danube of life” ( “danule” sounds very similar to “lots of stress” in Cantonese) together.

“Dumb boy” said: “Before, people said I was unhappy because I was deaf. Now that I can hear, I am not qualified to be unhappy, right?”

As human, we could be blessed but unhappy: the biggest ambition for someone could be just to eat a slice of pan-fried spam meat.
