The Hong Kong Family Welfare Society 70th Anniversary Fundraising Gala – Ode to Love
Theatre

Description
Description
A story of unconditional love and sharing, the re-run of this original semi-staged musical this time round celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. The musical weaves the stories of Oscar Wilde’s “The Happy Prince” and Henry Van Dyke’s “The Other Wise Man” together, with the stories’ protagonists, the Happy Prince and the Magus Artaban, echoing each other’s selfless sacrifices in their compassionate acts towards the needy. The show uses a form of storytelling in which the one on “The Happy Prince” is told in reversed chronological order and Artaban the Wise Man’s story told in chronological order. The characters of the two stories do not directly interact but are linked by the same jewels that are given up in their generous acts
