In order to mark the 100th anniversary of North-American composer Leonard Bernstein, the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra presents the concert “Lio Kuokman & HKCSO celebrating 100 Leonard Bernstein” in 22 August, 2018.
Besides performing the Candide Overture and the West Side Story Symphonic Dances under the baton of our guest conductor Lio Kuokman (who has praised by The Philadelphia Inquirer as “a startling conducting talent”, and was the winner of the Second Prize (First Prize not awarded), Audience Prize and Orchestra Prize at Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition 2014 in France), one of the best violinists from HKCSO Wong Pui-ying, who is also the winner of the Yampolsky International Violin Competition in 2017 and the winner of the IV Yankelevitch International Violin Competition in 2018, will perform the Vieuxtemps’s Violin Concerto No.5.
