Ashkenazy’s Pastoral

Description

Description

GLAZUNOVChopiniana
GLAZUNOVViolin Concerto
BEETHOVENSymphony no. 6, Pastoral

Esther Yoo first came to international attention in 2010 when, aged 16, she became the youngest prize winner of the 10th International Sibelius Violin Competition. She will collaborate with Vladimir Ashkenazy to perform Glazunov’s violin concerto, which she recorded with the world-renowned maestro in 2016 to critical acclaim. The concerto features some hauntingly beautiful, lyrical melodies, as well as plenty of technically challenging passages for the talented young violinist to shine on stage. In the same concert, Ashkenazy will take the audience to the Austrian countryside in Beethoven’s joyful and exuberant Pastoral Symphony.
