The Last Turner of Prince Edward

Description

Description

Chi Shing Turner was an old shop run by Mr Leung King-fan who had been a local carpenter for over 50 years. With the changes of time and the advance of the technology, the industry of carpentry which involves complicated process and traditional craftsmanship has been declining. Chi Shing Tunrer in Prince Edward closed down in Dec 2012. Seeing that, design team Yuen Yeung held an exhibition about this old shop in the district.

Jointly presented by 100ft. PARK and Yuen Yeung, the extended exhibition Chi Shing Turner will show photos of Mr Leung King-fan at work, his works and his tools. Though large machines went sent abroad already, Mr Leung King-fan still keeps some of the small tools. On view also includes works created by members of Yuen Yeung.
