Dust From The Heart

Description

Description

Family backgrounds are pivotal to a person’s upbringing and life journey – a fact evident in many artists’ works – and shapes a person’s reasoning, artistic touch and ways of expression. The latest Pearl Lam Galleries exhibition, titled Dust from the Heart, explores the mixed perspectives on life and Chinese history vicariously through the journey of five Chinese contemporary female artists, each with distinct backgrounds. Xiao Lu, Juju Sun, He Chengyao, Cui Xiuwen and Cai Jin will exhibit a range of paintings, videos, photographs and installations as spoken accounts of their lives.

The exhibition aims to visit the complicated history of women in China warped in political and cultural realities. The works will demonstrate, in their own manner, how female artists are willing to openly put forward their personal sensibilities and experiences.
