In conjunction with China Art Projects, AJC presents Aquarium comprising recent work by revered Chinese Artis Zhou Hongbin. In Aquarium we are confronted with surreal environments, some aquatic populated by multiple swimming rabbits and others even less familiar. Each animal constitutes a metaphor embodying a particular state of existence, stmospheric and mesmerizing, the body of work represents the artist’s very personal reactions to a society undergoing a headlong rush into the 21st C.
Zhou Hongbin photographs and then graphically collates her works seamlessly constructing images which together efforlessly evoke a novel and arresting visual realism.
