Danceland

Introduction

Danceland was found by Miss Miranda Chin in 1981. This is the first Dance School providing training both in Western Dance and Chinese Dance in Hong Kong. The mission of Danceland is to provide a comprehensive dance training mingled with high quality in teaching so that a student can develop her talents and creativity potential.
Progressive dance trainings are provided in Chinese Dance and Ballet Dance. Children Ballet Dance is taught according to the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dancing. Students have a track record of outstanding results in the Ballet Examination annually. The curriculum of Chinese Dance is based on the Beijing Dance Academy. Hundreds of students are recommended to take part in the Oversea Chinese Dance Examination and they are able to pass with flying colour.
Danceland students are invited to participate in large scale performances at Hong Kong Coliseum, various City Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center and Television Stations. Professor Ma Li Xae of Beijing Academy of Dance was invited to provide training to students of Danceland and organize a “Ten Grade Dance Showcase” in 1987. Nearly one thousand of our students participated in our annual performance in 1992 and celebrated the ten anniversary of Danceland. Cultural exchange with Little Star Arts Group of Shanghai, Guangzhou Youth Modern Dance Group and Beijing Dance Academy were held in 1993 and 1994 with Dance Performance in Hong Kong to promote the friendship amongst the students. In 1995, went to Cyrus for performance with other countries such as Greece, Poland, Yugoslavia, Cyrus and Georgia. From 1996, our students participated the performance in the Hong Kong Dance Expo. Our students also joined the performance “Welcome 2000” at APA Drama Theatre by Hong Kong Youth Art Festival 1999. The training of Danceland is available widespread in Hong Kong.
In 2007, over 200 students performed in Dance Gala for Celebration of HKSAR 10th Anniversary also marked the 25th Anniversary of the founding of Danceland. In 2008, the students also joined the Olympic performance events in Hong Kong & Beijing for cultural exchange.
