It’s another year of a cappella crossover by BRIO and MEDIPELLA.

This is a fundraising event in aid of the Eye Care Charitable Foundation. The nett proceeds of the concert will go to this worthy organization. Let’s help fight against eye diseases!

Medipella is a combination of the words “medical” and “a cappella”. This represents a group of medical doctors who love to share music through a cappella singing. Medipella is founded in 2015 and staged their first fund-raising concert in the year. Since then, they have participated in many concerts, singing a variety of songs including pop, jazz and rock in a contemporary style.

In the music dictionary, the phrase “con brio” means “with brilliance, fire, energy and spirit”. Brio is a vocal ensemble founded in 2008. Since its establishment, Brio has held 8 concerts and has participated in many large-scale performances.

In 2013, Brio composed and recorded the jingles for ‘Music is All Around’, a radio program of the Community Involvement Broadcasting Service of RTHK. In May 2014, Brio was invited to participate in the “Afternoon Music Tea” weekly programme at the Shenzhen Concert Hall, to share chorus music with the general public. Brio was also selected to perform in a masterclass by the famous British a cappella group The King’s Singers. Brio’s members also attended the King’s Singers Summer School 2015 and 2017 in UK where they received fruitful training on ensemble singing.

Brio’s repertoire covers a wide variety of music. They aim to welcome the audience into their musical world, giving them a diverse musical experience and enabling them to feel the rhythm and melody.
