Description

Description

Matthias Neumann was born in 1984 and studied organ, conducting and church music at three different universities in Germany and Austria. In 2011 he graduated from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with a Master of Arts church music degree and a diploma of conducting. He studied with Prof. Wolfgang Zerer (organ) and Prof. Christof Prick (conducting). For further and advanced studies he went to Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien and to Universität der Künste Berlin to study organ with Prof. Roman Summereder, Prof. Leo van Doeselaar and Prof. Paolo Crivellaro. He finished his studies with a Konzertexamen degree in Berlin in 2013. In the same year he became professor for organ at Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Bayreuth (Germany) as one of the youngest organ professors of his generation. He won prizes in the organ category of prestigious competitions like the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig and Jugend Musiziert. His talent was also recognised in the Gottfried Silbermann Organ Competition in Freiberg.

From renaissance to contemporary music Neumann has a large repertoire, also documented on various CD-productions (J.S.
