The Museum of Photography, Seoul

Introduction

The Museum of Photography, Seoul, is the first museum of photography in Korea, authorized in 2002. The museum engages in a variety of activities to promote an understanding and appreciation of photography. It exists to encourage and inspire photographers who choose to pursue an artistic career in the realm of Korean photography.

The museum’s mission is to discover artists with talent and provide them with opportunities to realize their full potential. And also hopes to develop a creative culture within Korean photography so as to be independent and following the world trends. The museum aims the resurgence of photography in Korea by extending the scope of the photographers’ activity. And the museum will support Korean photographers and their works so that they receive worldwide recognition.
