Music

Description
Description
The city is our home, where the most touching and colorful stories happened. Everyone of us has different, interesting and intriguing stories, in which we identified ‘self’, by discovering our possibility and building up diverse and unique character. The influences of the people we meet and things that happened in our lives are always uncertain, though they might become the values of one-self. Using guzheng music as the medium, this concert features an interactive platform for three
siblings to express their feelings and interpretation of ‘self’. The audience will decide on the content and order of the performance. Each piece of music, in the forms of solo, duet or trio, represents a specific scene in their lives. They will share their story of Zheng to the audience, seeking to inspire them on in depth thinking regarding the true ‘self’.
Chan Tin-chi, the soloist, is a local young professional Guzheng player. Through cooperating with different art and cultural institutions, she is actively engaged in various activities and committing herself into education as a passionate teacher. While heading towards her life vision to promote Zheng arts and music, her playing and contribution has been given highly complimentary remarks. She and her sisters, Chan Tin-wai and Chan Tin-mei, learned the guzheng together since childhood, nurturing their synchronization in playing. For them, the guzheng music has become an unique way of communication. Chan Tin-chi has invited her sisters to perform in this concert.
