Seeking Dreams on West Lake – Chinese music imbued with the ethos of Jiangsu and ZhejiangWith its scenic beauty and humanism, the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region is famous for breeding generation after generation of men of letters and fine artists. The Zhejiang Chinese Orchestra exemplifies this legacy with its outstanding musical achievements. On its visit to Hong Kong, it will be performing with the HKCO not only in a concert with Caprice on Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains as the highlight programme, but also many works in its stock repertoire, such as The Fishermen’s Triumphant Song which is distinguished by the regional gongs-and-drums music called Zhoushan luogu, the piece that lends its title to this concert – Seeking Dreams on West Lake.
