Multi-Media Dance Theatre Stellar Encounter With B-612 By Moments of Recollection

2015/16 School Culture Day Scheme

Description

Description

Established in 2009, Moments of Recollection aims to promote theatre art, foster practitioners of local theatrical productions, and through stage performances enable the audience to revisit their happy memories.

This production is inspired by renowned French novella The Little Prince, reborn in the form of dance theatre. It describes the encounter between an astronaut and a rose on Star B-612, conveying the message that we should strive to overcome difficulties with hope in the face of adversity. This modern dance production involves an innovative design of an outer-space environment. Performers in dance shoes equipped with springs, and on-stage painting, sound, lighting, video recording and music effects, give participating students a close encounter with and experience of multi-media dance theatre. The performance is also enriched with interactive elements. Students are handed luminous objects, which they can wave to act as co-dancing galaxy creatures, or even advise the rose to solve her problems.
