Claire Lee & Régis Gonzalez: Correspondence
Visual Arts

Description
Description
In 2013, Mur Nomade’s curator Amandine Hervey invited Claire Lee and Régis Gonzalez to embark on a conversation exclusively conducted by postal mail. At that time, they were living respectively in Hong Kong and Saint Etienne, France, and were simply given a name and a mailing address as starting point.
Claire Lee and Régis Gonzalez have been corresponding through texts, drawings, photographs and small fabricated objects over the past years. In this long-distance discussion, the two artists have explored in metaphoric ways feelings of being stranded and pressured, but they also tinted their dialogue with sporadic references to events of their daily lives.
The objects exchanged by the two artists will be presented on Mur Nomade’s booth at Art Central as a collaborative installation, complementing Claire Lee’s series Under Pressure.
Note:This event record is compiled from "Hong Kong Visual Arts Yearbook 2016" published by Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
