Paper Cut Dreamer
Theatre

Description
Description
“Paper Cut Dreamer” brings the idea of paper cutting into theater, where the play explores philosophical questions like yin and yang, emptiness, surrender, as well as questions of life. This play takes a minimalist approach and returns to the relations between material and story. The director, Chia-yin Cheng, places human actors and rod puppets on the same stage, and creates an unique way of narration of paper cut figures and human body movement. The story tellers begin with blank sheets of paper and find tremendous energy in cutting the paper, which represents creation and destruction at the same time and gives strong voices to history and imagination. It experiments an aesthetic of theater in which less is more. “Paper Cut Dreamer” resembles a magical fable, with the collaboration of incredible talents, including Hong Kong art director and stage designer Man-tung Tsang and Malaysian playwright Choon-eiow Koh. Come and experience the most exciting
interpretation of a mythological story!
